Dr. Chad Deckman: Founder, Vice President Research & Development

Dr. Chad Deckman is a co-founder of Mission Microwave and serves as Vice President of Research & Development, bringing more than 20 years of experience developing RF, microwave, and millimeter-wave products. He is recognized for advancing high-power amplifier design and manufacturability, with contributions spanning next-generation satellite uplink technologies and innovations in circuit and system design. Over the course of his career, he has contributed to 39 patents and helped found multiple companies in the RF and satellite communications sector.

Prior to Mission Microwave, Dr. Deckman was Vice President of R&D and a Founder of Wavestream Corporation, where he advanced a novel spatial power combining technology from research concept to high-reliability, high-volume production. His 38 GHz, 5-watt single-chip Grid Amplifier held a record for the highest output power achieved from a single chip at that frequency. Earlier in his career, he was an engineer at Agilent Technologies, where he developed leading-edge test equipment.

Dr. Deckman holds a B.S. from California State Polytechnic University and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering as well as a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech).
