Mr. James Lee: Founder, Chief Engineer
Mr. James Lee is a Founder and Chief Engineer at Mission Microwave, serving as the company’s chief designer and overseeing overall product design. With 39 years of experience in satellite communications and electronics, he leads engineering teams in developing products optimized for size, weight, power, and reliability. His expertise spans DC-DC and AC-DC power converters, power distribution, thermal management, and compliance with space, military, and commercial standards.
Before co-founding Mission Microwave, Mr. Lee held engineering leadership roles at Wavestream Corporation, Northrop Grumman Space Technology, L-3 Communications, Boeing Satellite Systems (formerly Hughes Aircraft), and Kaman Sciences Corporation. He has designed advanced power supplies and control systems for satellite payloads, power amplifiers, and solid-state lasers, earning multiple patents for switch-mode power converters and amplifier control systems.
Mr. Lee earned his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles.
